The collection was a flaunt of royal colours on rich fabrics; a sea of hats and feathered accessories; a celebration of skill and technique.
Filled with gold, silver and burgundy tones, the Astrid Andersen Autumn/Winter 17 collection took a twist from sportswear and transformed it into regal-like day wear. Andersen worked with techniques such as quilting and pleating on fabrics including velvet, silk, lace and corduroy creating tracksuits, bomber jackets, parka coats and intricately detailed trousers and gowns.
The flat cap hats throughout the lineup were created in collaboration with New Era, a detail which, alongside the sunglasses, went hand in hand with the modern gentleman look. Long feather earrings perfectly complimented the luxury feel of the collection; a slightly random yet incredibly effective decoration which flew as the models walked across the large show space.
James Massiah’s voice accompanied the collection as he read harsh love poems; a perfect addition to the Romantic vibes of the collection. Our stand out pieces includes the gold and black fur full-length coat as well as the black and leopard printed silk bomber jacket with gold trimmings.
