House of Middle East and Asia represent an international partnership to promote new fashion talent from the Middle East, Asia and India. The Autumn/Winter 17 showcased the work of three emerging designers – Felix Bendish, Kajal Patel and Nivedita Saboo.
The Felix Bendish’s “Oxygen” collection experimented with outstanding accessories, textiles and unique shapes. Oxygen masks were covered in shiny crystals and heart shaped chest plates accompanied with feathers and mini hearts were accessorising the clothing made in various textures such as wool, lurex, leather and chiffons. The colour scheme had a palette of reds, greens and creamy tones.
“The Gold Collection” did truly put the glam on the runway with pieces in gold made for bridal and occasion wear. The collection showed off dresses in tones of gold made of silk organza, chiffon and embroidered cotton. The designer balanced traditional Indian textiles in new ways and shapes with a modern view on Indian bridal wear.
Nivedita Saboo’s Autumn/Winter 17 showed off a menswear collection in black or blue jackets made of wool, with leather details and monochrome trousers. The womenswear line had more feminine shapes that was made of leather, wool and chiffon. It sure was a luxury collection showing of clothing made from traditional Indian techniques combined with western silhouettes and textures.
