The eponymous contemporary menswear label Angus Chiang kicked started Fashion Scout at London Fashion Week today with quite a bang – the suspended back drop clattered to the floor before the show had even started. Luckily, Chiang’s aesthetic is a mish-mash of bright colours and mixed media and this momentary staging blip simply added to the fun of it all. Although male models sported the clothing and Chiang has previously been purely a menswear brand, there was a unisex element to his AW17 collection. Boldly coloured joggers and pullovers were paired with tinfoil, yo-yo and ‘Slinky’ earrings. Colourful bandanas were ubiquitous, as were heavy Doc Marten-esq boots which were paired with contrasting laces.

Across the shoulder bags weren’t warn as their name suggests: they were playfully slung around the top of the models’ heads with the bag resting down their backs – perhaps not the most practical way to wear it, but this styling added to the atmosphere of fun that Chiang clearly wanted to create, after all the invite came as a heart-shaped balloon…
