WHAT DOES BEING PART OF THE CONFETTI CROWD MEAN TO YOU?
Beind part of the Confetti Crown means sisterhood, girlpower and kicking ass! Those girls mean the absolute world to me. They encourage me to do whatever I want with my life, wear whatever I want, and be whoever I want to be. It’s so empowering being around women that are striving to be the best they can possible be. All while staying so true to themselves. It’s great to have people like that around me.
WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND CONFETTI CROWD, HOW DO YOU WORK TOGETHER AND WHAT IS THE MISSION?
Confetti Crowd started off as website that combined all of our blogs. Sort of a super blog. Heidi came up with the initial idea of bringing us all together. She thought it would be cool to have a blog where people can see different girls with different styles in one place. We all felt the fashion industry was getting a bit boring and bland. So we injected a bit of fun into it! I hope it shows! It then kinda turned into this big “Girl Power” Spice Girls kinda things. Which we absolutely loved and adopted into our image. We now support and aim to empower women from all over the world by showing how confidence in yourself can transform you. Whether that be through clothing of just believing in yourself. Confetti Crowd has now got to the point where we think it is so much more than fashion. We want to show that by being your own boss, you can turn any hobby into a career. If you have a dream, then the best way to achieve that dream is just to put your absolute sould into it. Success will happy naturally as long as you believe and work hard.
CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT EASY TIGER AND THE INTENTION BEHIND IT ALL? WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR BEFORE YOU OPEN IT UP AGAIN THIS MONTH?
The idea of starting a funky festival shop initially started on a really long car journey with my boyfriend. We both agreed there were not enough online shops that sold really unique clothing. Especially for festivals. Then we didn’t think about it for a while until we ended up in India. We discovered so many incredible treasures that we just had to bring them back for everyone else! I felt guilty finding and having these amazing garments all to myself. So I started a little online shop once I got home and sold everything I bought within two months. It was incredible! This year I have invested all that money back into the business and I’m so proud of what I have coming out this festival season. Everything from this collection is so different to last year as almost everything is designed by me and my boyfriend. We are so proud of it. So much hard work, glitter, sequins and love has gone into this collection. I had a lot of fun designing and making my ideal festival outfits. That’s what this collection is. A little piece of my imagination turned into a reality.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT FESTIVAL FASHION THAT APPEALS TO YOU? WHY SHOULD WE BE DRESSING AS IF IT WERE A FESTIVAL EVERY DAY?
Festivals are a place that people tend to really let go. They don’t care about what people think and just enjoy themselves. I think this really shows through clothing. People gather their funkiest and coolest clothes to bring to the festival and they have so much fun with it! It’s so amazing to see how much extra confidence people have when they are rocking out in the most amazing outfits. This is why I love festival style so much. It shows the true personality of someone and I love the effort that is made. I wish people would dress as if it were a festival everyday so they would let go and not worry so much. Especially about what people think. I meet so many people that say “I wish I could have the confidence to dress like you”. I try to tell them you do have the confidence to dress like me. You just have to own it. You have to stop worrying about what people think. Worrying gets you absolutely nowhere in life, so it’s best to just wear what you want and totally rock it.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
This is such a tricky question as it changes all the time! But for the moment I think it’s sparkly, colourful and bohemian. With a twist of bad bitch.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY FOR TIGERLILLY LOOK LIKE?
At the moment of writing this I’m in Pushkar, India. A typical day for me here is to wake up, walk 10 meters down my road to have the most amazing rice and dhal for brekkie (it only costs me 25p!). Then I go to see my tailors and see if my samples are ready, then I do a bit of shopping to see if there are any other jazzy bits I want for my shop. After that I go and have a juice, usually mango or carrot, beetroot and ginger, followed by jewellery class for four hours. I started making jewellery and I’m hooked! It’s so much fun designing and making my dream rings! Then after this class I come back to my beautiful princess room at the hotel and do some errands. Usually following by an instagram/social media update, dinner and bed. Most of my days are like that in India although the other evening I was invited to a 4 year olf gypsy Indian girls birthday party, which ended up with myself and some friends dancing all night to Indian pop music. We were taught ALL the Bollywood songs and moves. It was amazing!
WHEN YOU EXPERIMENT WITH CLOTHES, WHAT IS THE THOUGHT PROCESS? HOW DOES IT ALL COME TOGETHER?
I usually start with the ket piece I want to style. Which tends to be a new item in my wardrobe! I then try on the item and visualise what it will look like with my other clothes. I have a mental note of each item of clothing I own in my head so I have a selection process and narrow it down to a few items. Then I try it on in front of the mirror. Once I’ve found the right clothing to match my ket item, I then go onto accessories, then makeup. I love matching my makeup to my outfit and switching it up for the different style of clothes I go for. Same goes for accessories. I’m really into accessories at the moment. They can totally transform any outfit, it’s amazing.
