A few days in Ibiza with Noctis

We went down to the hottest parties in Ibiza to bring back an insight into what you can expect from the white isle this summer..

“God Save the Queen” the new motto from the famous ANTS. Gymnasts in black zorb suits crawled through the crowd with the queen ant sporting her crown. Ushuaia was full to the brim as the party warmed up in the afternoon sun to the sounds of Maya Jane Coles.

The season opening party offered an incomparable line up, Mathias Tanzmann opened up the main stage with the sounds of Moon Harbour. Opening with a bang the crowd were treated to a firework extravaganza and a light display like no other. As always, ANTS resident Andrea Olivia didn’t disappoint.

“The colony opened with a bang, we reckon the God Save the Queen party will reign over the island this season”

ANTS is at Ushuaia Ibiza every Saturday until 30th September. Get your tickets here.

This was perhaps the party we were looking forward to the most. After catching up with Juan before we left we knew the Elrow opening party at Amnesia would be memorable. The queues outside went for miles just as they did inside. Getting through the doors the music was booming as we trudged through the crowds into the main room. There was almost a silence as people got inside as their jaws hit the ground, so did ours.

The ROWSHOW production was like nothing we had ever seen. The ‘Summer of Love’ theme was evident in every corner of the space; peace signs, butterflies, flowers, giant mushrooms, flying beds, rizzla packets and even an LSD LAB in front of the booth.

For the opening party we were treated to a rare B2B from Art Department and Dubfire. This season rather than an array of the Elrow family DJ’s, the main room will be treated to All Night Long sets from the best acts around, check out the lineups here.

“Elrow was a trippy wonderland that we never wanted to leave”

Elrow is at Amnesia Ibiza every Saturday until 30 September. Get your tickets here.

A short cab ride through scenic little towns, cobbled streets and glaring sun took us to Destino. Owned by Pacha the hotel is everything one would want for a luxury trip away. A glorious crystal blue pool, a Belvedere bar, boutique pop up stores, what more would you want? A party? Rumours has that covered.

Guy Gerber’s Rumours party has a unique energy that brings together a great crowd and great music. Playing in a little beach hut, decorated with a rainforest vibe, looking out over the ocean – the party is quite magical.

“Watching the sunset over Rumours is definitely a moment we won’t forget”

The atmosphere was amazing and the crowd didn’t want to go home. After playing one last song the lights shut off and like something out of a film the heavens opened. A tropical rain storm started causing us to all huddle in the hut and eventually make a run for it – not what you’d expect from a night out in Ibiza.

Rumours is at Destino Ibiza every Sunday until October 15.

It was our last night on the island and what better way to end the week than at Glitterbox. This summer the Glitterbox party is at the new Hï Ibiza in Playa d’en Bossa after the closing of the legendary Space last year.

This residency was opened with some of the top DJ’s in disco Simon Dunmore, Todd Terry, David Morales and Armand Van Helden and Dimitri from Paris. A live PA from Barbara Tucker brought the house down alongside the live percussion from Shovell.

Just when we thought it couldn’t get better, we went to the bathroom. The queue was longer than normal, why? Because there was a DJ booth and a party in there that was just as good as the main room.

Glitterbox is at Hï Ibiza every Friday until 29 September. Get your tickets here.
