Renowned producer and DJ Shy FX has proved his credentials as a taste-maker and trendsetter. However, with over twenty years in the business, his music has taken a new and exciting turn.
Alongside this year’s earlier release ‘We Don’t Care’, the grime musician said, “right now I’m in a place where I feel like I’m a brand new artist. I’m making music I’ve never made before. I want to create something that can’t easily be put into a genre. Mixing tribal elements, experimenting with grooves, arrangements, harmonies… And not forgetting VIBE”.
These words couldn’t describe new track ‘Chocolate’ better. Premiered by Annie Mac and selected as her ‘Hottest Record’, the song combines the musical talents of Roses Gabor and Ghetts. Roses Gabor offers her enticing voice, while Ghetts adds the quick-fire vocals that he’s known for. The song’s heavy bass line then comes courtesy of producer Breakage.
‘Chocolate’ comes shortly after Shy FX’s annual Notting Hill Carnival party, which took place this bank holiday Monday. The summer sizzler featured top quality musicians from across including Mark Ronson, Craig David and Lily Allen.
Safe to say, ‘Chocolate’ is the little bit of summer you need to carry you into autumn. It’s sure to be tearing up dance floors until the next Notting Hill Carnival comes around…
