Last month, Edinburgh born singer-songwriter, Callum Beattie, unveiled ‘Man Behind The Sun’. Available on 3 Beat and Universal Music, it follows the release of his debut EP, ‘We Are Stars’.
Beattie’s cracked vocal tones take the lead on his second single with a truly emotive force. The track is a testament to Beattie’s ability to build a panoramic sound. With heartwarming driving guitars, uplifting odes and a hook laden chorus, ‘Man Behind The Sun’ has all the makings of a future festival anthem.
A musician with a broad palette, Beattie takes inspiration from the likes of CHVRCHES, Biffy Clyro, Sia and Kings Of Leon and is working on his first studio album with producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Paolo Nutini) and Cam Blackwood (George Ezra, London Grammar).
He spent his formative years learning his craft; He would play any gig he could blag in the none-too-salubrious pubs of Edinburgh. Having come up the long way, Beattie launches into the public consciousness with a formidable array of brutally honest songs. Sometimes euphoric, sometimes reflective. Callum Beattie is ready to establish himself as one of the names to watch in 2017.
