Acclaimed Bristol based four piece, Firewoodisland, have released their brand new single ‘Dearest Brother’. Which is the first taste of the band’s forthcoming debut album, due early 2018.
The track is a beautiful folk-pop anthem, leading with delicate guitars before breaking into sky high choruses and soaring harmonies; A sound that they have christened ‘mountain pop’. Speaking about the track the band said, “Dearest Brother is a song of compassion and tough love. It’s about watching friends getting hurt by bad decisions. It’s about letting them know that you’re there for them and taking the brunt. As long as they do something to help themselves”.
The quartet are Stian Vedoy, Abi Eleri, Dylan Jones and Steve Allen. Together they offer uplifting anthems with their festival worthy sound. Their songwriting has an assured, emotive feel, whilst remaining perceptive to the world around them.
Firewoodisland are playing a three date UK tour in support of ‘Dearest Brother’ this month; They will play London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on October 16th, the Exchange in Bristol on October 21st, and finish at The Nest in Bath on October 28th. Tickets are available via Music Glue.
