Last week, British soul songstress Cherri V released the stripped back live video to ‘Without You’ with the help of musician, Hannah V. Originally produced by Harmony Samuel, the record is turned into a resounding piano led ballad. With mere months until the release of her 2018 EP, ‘Brown Eyed Soul’, the anticipation for the album continues to build.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the stripped back video, Cherri V said that many couples can relate to the concept of ‘Without You’. “It’s very tongue in cheek”, she said. “It captures the comical side of differences in the household. With the simple ‘matter of fact’ lyrics resonating with listeners. This version really gave me a chance to showcase my vocals that little bit more”.

It wasn’t long ago that Cherri V released a stripped back version of ‘Leave Me Be’ either. Of this she said, “As a songwriter who wears her heart on her sleeve and reveals a lot through her lyrics, I’m always in favour of stripping back a song and approaching it acoustically. ‘Leave Me Be’ hones in on vulnerability and honesty. And this stripped version of the record just allows me to dig a little deeper”.
