Earlier this month, Anteros revealed their new track ‘Love’. Front woman Laura Hayden said, “Love is self explanatory, really, in the general sense of the word. It’s about putting LOVE first. Before race, before fear, before hate, before greed”.
Produced by Charlie Andrew, ‘Love’ veers left of the effervescent pop vibe of ‘Bonnie’ into edgier territory; channeling Blondie and The Cardigans with its raucous guitar riff and sensual vocal delivery. “Everyone is so scared, the world is so fragmented”, continued Laura speaking about the inspiration behind the track. Which follows ‘Bonnie’ in its intent to bring people together and emanate positivity in the face of widespread unrest and division.
The video for ‘Bonnie’ is vibrant; It was co-directed by Laura Hayden alongside James Ayling and embodies the theme of female empowerment. The tracks seeks to encourage women to unite in the face of adversity rather than competing against each other.
Speaking about the video, Laura said, “This is my first co-direct and it was so much fun being completely involved in the project from start to finish. We wanted to work towards something that ties the double AA side together. Love, equality and Women Power, working together instead of against each other. Choreographed by Darcy Wallace, we shot the video at the iconic Repton Boxing Club in London, and we could not have been more lucky with the team. Everyone was hands on from start to finish, helping us cover the boxing ring ropes with roses until the very end”.
