Remember her name, for Jerry Williams will soon captivate your heart.
She is unsigned, self funded and self releasing but the 21 year-old is accelerating into the new year. The last twelve months alone have seen indie pop artist, Jerry Williams, achieve a growing number of serious musical landmarks; including confirming her first performance at this year’s SXSW. Drawing inspiration for her life growing up and the lives of others around her, she taps into the notion of being relatable. Her music is honest and her power comes from her humble nature. She said, “I don’t want to be an in-everyone’s-face celebrity”.
Jerry Williams looks set to be the jewel of the south coast, that is since Joe Jackson in the 1970s. Having played her first gig aged 17, after training as a classical guitarist, she skewers the cruel details of relationships. Just as expertly as her elders.
Co-written with Nick Atkinson and produced by James Earp, latest single ‘Grab Life’ is another mouth-wateringly upbeat addition to an increasing catalogue of remarkably well-constructed pop tunes. Inspired by the experiences of those around her, ‘Grab Life’ is a call to embrace each day and seize the finer moments in life before it’s all too late.
