On March 31st, I was invited to see my favourite electronic duo and certified party starters Gorgon City perform live. With Booka Shade, Josh Butler, Max Chapman and Naations included on the lineup, I headed down to the Brixton O2 with baited breath, anticipating of one of the best electronic gigs of the year
The crowd was exhilarating, chanting the lyrics without missing a beat and dancing away the night for 7 hours of electro utopia. During the set we were also blessed with the duo’s latest single “Motorola” out on Realm Records. Certain to be a summer hit, the track is a deep bass futuristic twist on a smoothly nostalgic track taking us on a trip back to the 90s.
With atmospheric strobes bouncing across the hall, I was completely enthralled by Gorgon City’s energetic stage presence and by the time 4am rolled around, I found myself not ready to leave.
They closed the set with “Ready For Your Love” a personal favourite of mine and die-hard club anthem featuring intoxicating vocals of MNEK. The party was over, but not before the release of industrial sized party cannons and balloons to really make the night complete.
The show was incredible, a night for the ages, I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next Gorgon City release.
