The usual Clapham Common sunbathers will have to take up their picnic blankets to make room for the electronic and urban ravers as SW4 is back in town!
The festival’s 15th year anniversary this summer is expecting to be its best ever turn out. What humbly began as a 1-day show, in collaboration with the Metro weekender in 2001 and attracting just a few hundred locals, has become South London’s most anticipated annual event. SW4 has grown rapidly over the years, hosting the best names in electronic and urban music. Historically, electronic house raves were always spread by word of mouth and generally kept underground. SW4 however is breaking barriers and providing accessibility in the heart of the City, attracting ravers near and far to experience the eclectic weekend party.
To mark the special anniversary date, South West Four is keeping it “quintessentially British” whilst mixing it up and hosting an array of anticipated international talent. Headlining on Saturday 25th August is American electronic dance music producer and DJ Marshmello, Dizzee Rascal who became iconic in the London grime scene with his debut 2003 album ‘Boy in da Corner’, Swedish Electronic dance music production, songwriting and DJ duo Galantis, Dutch record-breaking DJ Armin Van Buuren, Oliver Heldens and Drum and Bass DJs, Sigma.
The second and final day will showcase British Drum and Base legends Chase & Status on Capital FM’s Main Stage, followed by 90s icon Craig David in the afternoon. DJ EZ, Sub Focus and Hannah Wants are to headline on the Indoor Mainstage whilst Stage 3 will host Wilkinson DJ set, Hype B2B Hazard and SASASAS.
But that’s not all- there are 2 more stages and supporting acts who we must commend for their contribution to the UK music scene. Big Narstie, Lethal Bizzle, Stefflon Don, Basement Jaxx, Kojo Funds, Yungen and to name just a few!
