For the 3rd year in a row we had the pleasure of heading down to the fields of Cambridge for the 5th annual Strawberries and Creem festival and luckily, the weather was on our side!
So where do we even start? What a fantastic way to kick off the summer with a festival just a convenient train ride away from Kings Cross, London. Now if your anything like me I’m more of a white sneeker R&B jammer than a rolling around in mud and pass out in a tent kinda girl so this was the perfect festival to listen to my favourite nostalgic jams and still get the last train home on a high.
As ever, the lineup was immensely impressive with big acts Shy FX, David Rodigan and Heidi getting us in the mood to party hard. Ghetts and Crazy Cousins brought raw flavour and Kojo funds shook up the yard bringing out Abra Cadabra to shutdown the festival with their massive hit ‘dun talkin’.
We saw a lot of familiar faces in the S&C crowd and it was apparent everyone was looking for a good time. In my younger days of music hunting days I often put up with a moody atmosphere to get this vibe of music but the trusty S&C crew pulled off the festival with no negativity in sight (everyone got hit with a good vibes only band on the door. – thanks gang!) I mean…if your not pulling a ugly skanking face at some point at S&C you really aren’t having a good time and it’s safe to say things got ugly in a good way!
Killing it with the old skool were garage legends DJ & MC Neat alongside Pied Piper that got the crowds lovin it lovin it lovin it! It was amazing to see the UK scene seamlessly paired up with international stars, T-Pain showed us lots of love and it’s safe to say the crowd was sprung… don’t cha get me? Ok enough lyrics I’m jumping in my Addison lee..
This festival is not to be missed and I’ll be sure to return next year, I can’t wait to see who and what the S&C team pull out the bag in 2019
