“I’m very fickle when it comes to my jewellery, my favourite piece changes with my mood.”
Tilly Sudsbury is an exciting London based jewellery designer that should be on your radar. Each bespoke piece of jewellery is handcrafted, and Tilly’s interest in the properties of the materials makes for her unique stand out pieces.
Do you have a signature style? How has it evolved since you first started out?
I’m obsessed with metal. I’m interested in the vast forms it can take so I started creating soft, fluid shapes to articulate this since it is seen as a hard material. I have carried on developing this style throughout my collections.
Do you have a favourite piece, why is it your favourite piece?
I’m very fickle when it comes to my jewellery, my favourite piece changes with my mood, though I wear my shell ring every day, so probably that one.
What do you have planned for your next collection?
My next collection is the ‘shell collection’, which started out with the ‘shell ring’, cast from an actual shell that a friend found in New Zealand, it naturally formed as a ring and she was wearing as one, it was beautiful, though obviously wouldn’t have survived long as a ring, so I cast it in to silver. She has since given me a few more, so they will be the next pieces to watch out for!
