Welsh designer Jayne Pierson has successfully amalgamated her fashion with creating bespoke pieces for musicians and high profile actresses. Her background in costume design and experience working for couture designers Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen have contributed to her authority as an exciting designer to watch.
“Because de Change” really married Pierson’s ideologies and thought processes. Using digital print techniques, of religious depictions to contrast with leathers, tulle, lace really embraced the feminine shape. It seemed to communicate a lot, her inner thoughts regarding sexuality, empowerment and celebration. She had really reinforced the concept of the woman that reveals the most of herself; her dreams, her aspirations, her struggles, her inner self.
Makeup was an unapologetic, bold red lip and hair kept natural to the model’s natural style. I wondered why she had lined up such a diverse selection of models. But it was refreshing to see.
A delight to watch and extremely relevant collection from Jayne Pierson.
