Embroidered and printed WordArt details appear on outwears and tracksuits, and bright alpine colours on waterproof coating. Liam Hodges’ Autumn/Winter 2019 is a skiwear and graphics inspired collection titled “Mutations in the 4th Dimension”.
The collection features a great amount of 1990s and early 2000s inspiration, chunky trainers, moon boots, with a Tee referencing a 1995 movie “Hackers”, asymmetrical graphics inspired by The Year 2000 problem (Y2K) as well as using an early version of WordArt embroidered “Mutations in the 4th Dimension” on 1990s inspired striped polo shirts.
After a successful collaboration with Italian sportswear brand FILA, Hodges teams up with emerging British label Stain Shade for tie-dye pieces and collaborates with Italian sports apparel brand Ellesse. Here he reworks the firm’s skiwear, transforming ski jackets, trousers and tracksuits to comfortable streetwear. Many pieces include Liam Hodges and Ellesse logos, alpine colours including blue, white and grey and prints of salt crystal taken via a powerful microscope.
In short the collection shows people everything is timeless, there’s no new or old fashion style, because fashion is a cycle, even if you’re creating new ideas, your knowledge would definitely be inspired by the past.
