There was a familiar, winter warmer vibe at the Wood Wood AW19 presentation. Think adventurer, lumberjack, mountain man… a collection of somewhat stereotypically “manly” pieces that instantly evoke images of woodland wilderness and wrapping up warm.
Much like their SS19 collection, Wood Wood’s inspiration for this season was nature and the wilderness, however, the duo were definitely a little more hardcore in their expectations. The garments were ready for the great outdoors, scaling mountains and the like.
The menswear look book adheres to an evergreen colour palette of forest green, khaki and driftwood styled in to outerwear such as parkas, M65 hooded jackets, and camouflage-print utility jackets. My stand out outerwear piece had to be the luxurious tweed coat which balanced form, function and fashion to a T.
The alpine theme brought rich print stories, details and coniferous colours, a nostalgic nod to times gone by. Sporty jerseys, chunky half-cardigan stitch jumpers and clunky unisex leather boots with hiking laces showed the collection had strong wearability and the more than generous embellishment of accessories made wrapped the entire collection up for the winter to come.
