A fun filled show with no standing room left, Jayne Pierson packed out the Freemason’s hall with her new AW collection titled, J’ayne. Everything about the show was fun, from the music to the colourful collection with many a piece, bringing to mind the “business in the front, party in the back” slogan. Working with Sketchers for the footwear, each look focused on taking sportswear in a new direction adding comfort to couture.
The focus of the show is the “contemporary woman who longs to reveal her most inner self”, the clothes had a luxury feel with a fun spirit, encompassing doodles, hand embroidered tulle and lace lingerie. The colour combinations were phenomenal with shaggy shearling in all colours of the rainbow. Using a mixture of textures and materials, the collection also included hand-painted leather as well as hand-drawn digital prints.
Alongside glitter ball outfits in show stopping silver, and the colourful coats, there was also a lot of structured pieces which created a luxury collection that redefined the female form. A collection of art, the makeup looks were created with a rose eye colour that extended down the face, there was also a glow on the skin that created a dewy look. The pop of red on the lips was sophisticated, especially when paired with the wet look hair and loose curls over the model’s faces.
A favourite of the collection was a look created with white tulle and a shaggy coat over the top. It was completed with white Sketchers embellished with white fluff coming off the sides and the coat looked so cosy whilst remaining mature.
Jayne Pierson created a colourful collection which is multidimensional and full of powerful pieces for AW19.
