Embrace your culture, embrace your identity, the Malaysian womenswear brand Mimpikita showcase their Autumn/Winter 2019-2020 collection at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week. The collection is created by three female founders, all from different backgrounds, breaking down their own cultural boundaries and barriers.
The runway show opened with a multicoloured floral print styled with a camel colour headscarf, white turtleneck jumper and red trousers.
Prints and embroidery are heavily featured on the runway, the warm colour tone abstracted floral prints are well designed, classic mirror effect; all over prints on outwear, top or trousers, bringing you warmth in the cool autumn. Beside floral prints, multicoloured check patterns are also featured inn the collection.
The embroidery and embellishment are not like the all over prints in the collection, instead they form smaller features of a garment: embroidered on the top/side of the trousers, shoulder, shoulder girdles, chest or front pocket from a bag, the attention to detail is indubitable.
Significant amount of headscarves are also featured on the runway, each headscarf styled in a different way, the silky and expensive looking headscarves are your best friend during the cold winter, keeping your ears and head warm in a most stylish way.
In short, the collection is a fun, colourful and most importantly it’s a collection that demonstrates attention to detail, embroidery and embellishment are nicely done, styling in a fusion way that embraces different cultures. With headscarves and check patterns on the same collection, it’s very suitable for a multi-cultural city like London.
