The Diynamic is aptly named. Since its birth in 2006 by Solomun in Hamburg, the label continues to grow. Diynamic is a nod to the ‘Dynamic’ aspect of music but also to “digital music”. One of the most influential brands in the world in electronic music, with residencies in Amsterdam, Brazil, Berlin, Barcelona and Ibiza.
The festival returned to Amsterdam this weekend and to an outstanding acknowledgement of gratitude from the sold out crowd who attended the one-day event.
Label favourites Kollectiv Turmstrasse, Stimming, Tale of Us, Mind Against and more were all there to support the show with Solomun. But what was a really great defining factor of the weekend was the inclusion of artists who had not yet featured on the label but were still present.
The blend of label favourites with new additions really gave the place a breathe of musical fresh air and was detrimental to how the festival played out. The live stage was also nice – the likes of Francesco Tristano and Johannes Brecht really offered up something spectacular and were duly celebrated by the bustling and energetic crowds.
Despite all the fantastic artists on display, there was only one who was always going to be the standout performer and that was Solomun himself, the deep and grooving melodious tones of his track selections riveted through each and every soul in the crowd – they went wild for him and we really can’t see the Solomun fandom slowing down anytime soon. We’re looking forward to our next Diynamic outing already!
