Le Sillage presented their Spring/Summer 2020 collection on the 15/09 in Victoria House during London Fashion Week. Le Sillage comes from French which means “follow, start with” and expresses their initial intention to create an independent brand in pursuit of their original ideas.
The collection is a black colour based collection, although all 18 looks are in black, some are with large patches on the side, bottom part or back of the top or jacket, some are with colourful oil painting prints, some combine both patches and prints on the same piece. With the designer’s oriental background, meaningful traditional Chinese writing are written/printed on the patches: the Chinese phrase “多行不義必自斃”, means Give a thief enough rope and he’ll hang himself; “初見” means first blush. The Silhouettes and styling of this collection seems workwear inspired, blazer, suit jacket, collared shirts are heavily featured on the runway. In short, the collection is a very wearable ready to wear collection, if you love the colour black and patches and print details you will definitely love this collection.
